Racecadotril is used in the treatment of diarrhea. It is used, when fluid and dietary measures are not sufficiently effective to control diarrhoea.
Racecadotril has an anti-secretory effect. It reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine. This helps to reduce the amount of fluid loss from the body in diarrhoea.

- Difficulty to breath
This medicine is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
This medicine is not effective in severe diarrhea patients and also in antibiotic-associated diarrhea patients.
This medicine is not recommended in the children less than 3 months.
This medicine is not recommended in patients with kidney and liver impairment.
The availability of this medicine is decreased in patients with severe vomiting, therefore not used in patients with severe vomiting.
This medicine is known to cause mild to moderate skin reactions.
