It is used to treat a number of different conditions, such as inflammation (swelling), severe allergies, adrenal problems, arthritis, asthma, blood or bone marrow problems, kidney problems, skin conditions, and flare-ups of multiple sclerosis. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid (cortisone-like medicine or steroid).

Use of this medicine is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary.

This medicine has the potential of causing moderate to a severe allergic reaction in the body.

This medicine should be used with caution if the patient is suffering from diseases like cirrhosis, diverticulitis, myasthenia gravis, peptic ulcer disease, kidney diseases etc. 

Use of large dose of this medicine can alter the levels of electrolytes like sodium and potassium in the body and may cause unexpected changes in blood pressure levels.

Use of this medicine should not be abruptly stopped as the patient is likely to suffer from withdrawal symptoms. 

Use of this medicine may worsen the symptoms of internal fungal infections and hence should be used only under life-threatening circumstances.

The lowest possible dose of this medicine should be taken to keep the interactions and side effects away.

This medicine should be used with caution in pediatric patients as the risk of growth abnormalities, brittle bones, and other developmental problems are significantly high.

Use of this medicine can cause side effects like agitation, anxiety, depression, mood changes, and other psychotic manifestations and hence caution is advised.        

Use of this medicine may delay the process of wound healing.

Immunization procedures involving the injection of a live and weakened pathogen should be avoided while taking this medicine.

This medicine may interact with any medicine that you might be possible taking.

It is used to treat bacterial infections.

Chloramphenicol is used to treat serious infections in different parts of the body.

Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops the growth of bacteria. It does so by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. • Burning, numbness, tingling in the arms and feet
• Swelling of face, lips, eyelids, tongue, hands and feet 
• Depression

This medicine is recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women only when absolutely necessary 

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from an impairment of the liver and/or the kidney. 

Report the use of this medicine to the doctor if a vaccination is scheduled.

This medicine should not be used to treat minor infections or infections where the causative organism is not identified.

It is recommended to complete the full course of treatment even when symptoms improve.

Long term and repeated use of this medicine should be avoided as the risk of getting a secondary infection are very high in such cases.

This medicine can cause symptoms like abdominal swelling, pale or blue skin, shock, breathing difficulties, low temperature etc when given to a newborn or an infant.  

Use of this medicine can lower the count of blood cells and cause anemia, bleeding, infections etc.

This medicine should be administered with caution in diabetic patients with frequent monitoring of blood sugar levels.

This medicine can reduce the effect of hormonal contraceptives and hence the risk of unintended pregnancies are high.

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in children, especially in infants.

• Burning or tingling sensation of hands and feet
• Visual disturbances
• Stomach discomfort and cramps
• Nausea or Vomiting
• Weakness of arms, hands, legs or feet
• Severe difficulty in breathing
• Mental Confusion
• Persistent diarrhea
• Allergic skin reaction

This medicine should not be used during a pregnant and breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary.

Use of this medicine has been associated with brain damage, memory problems, anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders in some patients. 

Use of this medicine may cause an impairment of normal kidney function and hence should be used with caution in patients suffering from any kidney disease.

The use of this medicine has been associated with respiratory failure in patients suffering from myasthenia gravis.

This medicine may cause clostridium difficile associated diarrhea during or after treatment. 

Report the use of other medicines including herbs and supplements to the doctor.

Use of this medicine may cause sedation and drowsiness. 

It is recommended to take this medicine for full prescribed duration even when the symptoms subside or resolve.

Intramuscular route may cause severe injection site pain and hence should be avoided in case of children.
