5 Common Mistakes You’re Making In The Shower

You’ve mastered your typical shower routine that leaves you clean and fresh. And sure, after these years of the daily shower ritual, you know there’s no better way to do it. But it turns out, we’re all making some surprising mistakes behind the curtain. Yes, there’s a right and a wrong way to shower. And since, you invest a portion of your time in the shower every single day, its advisable to do it the smartest way possible. Avoiding some common missteps in the shower could save skin from a lot of embarrassment. It will leave you healthier and prettier.

- Get the temperature just right : Long, hot showers are always a relief. But this practice does more harm than good. Hot water strips off our skin of its natural oils and makes it dry. It also enhances the aging processed in our skin. So, what should be the best way? Raw cold water?? No! Experts say that the ideal way is to keep it just lukewarm.

- Skip the soap : - The most important principle of skin care is pH balance. Most of the soaps and gels we use disturb the natural healthy balance of the skin. Smarter way: Use soap in the areas with a lot of sebaceous glands like groin, underarms, nape and under the breasts. Cleansing with water or a gentle cleanser is fair for the rest of your body.

- Germs in your loofah count : Your loofah has been hanging in the shower for months there. It tends to soak in a lot of germs and dust whose contact with the skin isn’t healthy.Ideal lifeline of a loofah is two months, make sure you replace it every two months. Dry it completely between showers and soak it in vinegar once a week.

- Shampoo the scalp : Most people lather up their length and locks while shampooing. Given that your scalp needs the cleansing, shampooing your lengths isn’t a great idea.Dirt and oils collect on the scalp. To keep your scalp pores healthy and clean you should actually lather up the skin of scalp. Working more on the length also makes hair dry and brittle. A proper shampoo job should take just 60-120 seconds.

- Don’t overdo the towel-drying : After you step out of the shower, pat dry your skin gently. Rubbing it harshly can cause irritation and rip it off the natural oils. Also, do not wrap a towel for longer than a minute on your hair. Instead, soak the water gently with a towel and let it air dry afterwards.

The contents of the article are worth knowing to keep up the health. I would like to add a point; instead of skipping the soap part, use a natural soap which contains only the natural ingredients such as turmeric, sandalwood, neem, aloe vera etc. Even a baby soap can be used as it is very gentle to the skin.
